Mission:
Inspired by Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, Stop & Go Interactive works to engage communities in the identification of and collective problem-solving of social issues, using applied drama as a facilitation tool for progressive change.
Vision:
We believe in changing the world.
We believe that changing the world is difficult in times of crisis, but through applied drama, we can rehearse our futures.
We believe that applied drama is a powerful tool for community engagement, creative collaboration, and civic dialogue.
We believe in theatre that engages an audience, not as passive spectators, but as participating "spect-actors" who are personally invested in the world of the play.

We all want to change the world, but often when we are in a moment of crisis, we only get one chance. But as dramatists, we create worlds, and we choose its composition.
It's sort of like the X-Men™ (Marvel Comics). The X-Men™ are a team of superhuman "mutants" who discover their powers, usually around puberty. They are young and afraid and susceptible to danger. Charles Xavier ("Professor X")™ is a telepath who has the ability to locate mutants whom he recruits to his school where he gives them a traditional academic education, as well as training for controlling their abilities and using them for the good of humankind. In a basement facility, Professor X™ has built a "Danger Room"--a super gymnasium that has the ability to simulate all kinds of perilous situations and circumstances in which the X-Men™ may test and hone their abilities.
Applied drama is, for us, a sort of Danger Room--a controlled space wherein we--actor and "spect-actor" train for the change we wish to make in the real world. Inspired by Augusto Boal's Theatre of the Oppressed, Stop & Go Interactive engages communities through applied drama and civic dialogue to identify and seek solutions to social problems as "a rehearsal for the future."
